Harvesting Daffodils in Iran

Did you know that Iran is responsible for the harvest of over 600 million daffodils per year. Daffodil production accounts for between 15,000 and 20,000 jobs in the country with harvesting taking place over 1,200 hectares of land.
The largest quanitity of daffodil production in Iran occurs in the Fars Province region, where 500 hectares is dedicated to this endeavour.
Other notable areas of daffodil production include Mazandaran and Khuzestan, the latter of which is home to Iran's oldest daffodil garden in Behbahan. With four different types of daff grown in an area encompassing roughly 700 hectares, Behbahan is ideal for a day trip if you're travelling in Iran.
